FRECKLETON Church of England Primary School

Parish School of Holy Trinity Church

RELIGIOUS EDUCATION statement of intent

"But as for you, continue in what you have learned and have become convinced of, because you know those for whom you learned it, and how from infancy you have known the Holy Scriptures, which are able to make you wise for salvation through faith in Christ Jesus."

2 Timothy 3:14-15

At Freckleton Church of England Primary School our pupils will develop skills in religious literacy and can engage in meaningful and informed dialogue about their own beliefs and those of others.  Children will have a clear understanding and experience of Christian beliefs and practices.  They will make good or better progress academically, by building upon knowledge and skills they have developed throughout school.  They show respect towards others and understanding of other faiths, so are fully prepared for living within our multi-cultural society.  Children engage with Biblical text and discuss theological concepts in depth.  Children are engaged in their learning, through a varied range of teaching approaches and strive to work to the best of their ability.  Children are challenged by exploring core Christian concepts, asking and answering a range of big questions.
