Our School Day

 Getting to school

To get to and from school, walking is definitely the best option! There are lots of benefits: it’s healthier than travelling by car, it improves the safety of pedestrians and road-users, and it respects nearby residents and parking regulations. The school car park should not be used to drop off and collect your child(ren). There is a large FREE public car park next door to school.

Our Infant School Day

The school day starts at 9.00am and finishes at 3.25pm. Infants can enter their classrooms from 8.50am.

Morning Playtime

Children have a morning break from 10.30am - 10.45am.

 Lunch

Children in the Infants have lunch at 12.00 followed by playtime; lunchtime ends at 1.00pm.

 Afternoon Playtime

Children in the Infants have an afternoon playtime from 2.00pm-2.15pm.

 Drop-off and collection

At the beginning and end of the school day, parents are encouraged to drop off and collect their child from the external doors of the classrooms. This helps to build up a close relationship between home and school – we want to have good links with all parents.  If normal arrangements have to be altered (e.g. you are delayed or another person is collecting your child) please let us know.  This avoids any confusion or upset.

Our Junior School Day

The school day starts at 8.55am and finishes at 3.30pm. Juniors can enter school from 8.45am.

 Morning Playtime

Children have a morning break from 10.30am - 10.45am.

Lunch

Children in the Juniors have a short playtime at 12.15pm, go into lunch at 12.30pm followed by playtime; lunchtime ends at 1.15pm.

Afternoon Playtime

Children in the Juniors have an afternoon playtime from 2.15pm-2.30pm.

Drop-off and collection

At the beginning and end of the school day, Junior children enter school via the Junior Cloakroom Door. Parents are encouraged to wait in the playground; however there is always a least one member of staff on duty if you need to talk to someone as this helps to build up a close relationship between home and school – we want to have good links with all parents.  If normal arrangements have to be altered (e.g. you are delayed or another person is collecting your child) please let us know.  This avoids any confusion or upset.

 Worship and Assemblies

As a Church school we meet together for both worship and assemblies. Worship is a time to reflect, pray, praise and celebrate God's great gifts to us, assembly is a time to assemble together for a common purpose often to inform.

We hold worship in the school hall, classrooms, our Parish Church of Holy Trinity or the Methodist Church, we are also developing ways of worshipping outside! Assemblies often take place in the school hall.

Whole school worship is usually 9.05am to 9.20am Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday; class worship takes place on a Thursday at some point. Assemblies are arranged as needed. Parents and Carers are invited to assemblies and acts of worship via the school's newsletter.
