SIAMS Inspection OUTCOME

Come and join the celebration…

As a Church School under the Diocese of Blackburn, we are inspected by both Ofsted and by The National Society through SIAMS.  The recent SIAMS Inspection Report has been published and governors wish to celebrate these key findings:

The school’s recently revised Christian vision is clearly underpinned by Christian theology and has a solid biblical basis. This has had a significant impact on many areas of school life and is shaping the direction of the school.

Relationships throughout the school are exemplary. Pupils and staff live out the Christian values identified by the school and as a result they care for and value each other and behaviour is excellent.

The school is outward looking and has strong relationships with the local community and Church. Through this, the love of Christ is extended beyond the school gate.

Ultimately, to answer the question posed by the National Society:

How effective is the school’s distinctive Christian vision, established and promoted by leadership at all levels, in enabling pupils and adults to flourish?

We are a good church school.

THANK YOU for your continued support.

SIAMS INSPECTION THURSDAY 23RD JANUARY 2020

Dear Parents & Carers,

I would like to inform you that on Thursday 23rd January the school will be subject to a SIAMS (Statutory Inspection of Anglican and Methodist Schools) Inspection which aims to answer the question:

How effective is the school’s distinctive Christian vision, established and promoted by leadership at all levels, in enabling pupils and adults to flourish?

This comes five years after our previous inspection and just as with Ofsted, the inspection schedule has changed quite considerably.  Anyone wishing to find out more about what is inspected, please take a look at:

https://www.churchofengland.org/sites/default/files/2018-04/SIAMS%20Evaluation%20Schedule%202018_0.pdf

One of the major differences is that our current status of ‘Outstanding’ no longer exists within the new SIAMS Inspection Schedule, the majority of Church of England School are judged to be ‘Good’ with those performing above this grade descriptor now being classified as ‘Excellent’.

School welcomes the opportunity to share what your ‘stars’ are doing in school and beyond!

‘Shine like stars in the world’ Philippians 2:15

The inspector, Mrs Hallows, will be on the playground from 8.45am on Thursday morning hoping to talk with parents should you wish to make yourself known to her.

Once the outcome of our SIAMS Inspection is made official the report will be available in both hard copy and electronically here on our school website.

Yours sincerely,

Mrs Rachael Ainsworth
