Elijah and the Ravens

Worship Group 2021-2022 have chosen the Bible Story of Elijah and the Ravens for their final display as they felt that the story of Elijah being fed in the ’Raven’s Ravine Restaurant’  shows the Christian Value of FAITH in action.  Elijah trusted God to provide for all of his needs.  This was especially relevant at Harvest Time when we remembered to thank God for all he has proved for us throughout the year and thought about sharing what we have when we provided donations to the Fylde Food Bank.

The Lost Sheep

Worship Group have chosen the Bible Story of

‘The Lost Sheep’ for their new display as they felt that this story illustrates the message of Education Sunday:

‘You are not lost’ and is a great opportunity for us to think about ways in which we can show God’s love to every child and young person in our school.

Whole School Worship 19.07.22

Thank you to our School Worship Group for a fantastic Whole School Worship, you were all amazing!
The focus in Worship was the story: 'The Colour of Friendship' and how we are all uniquely needed with our gifts and talents to work together for peace in our world.

 Story: The Colour of Friendship

Once upon a time, the colours of the world started to quarrel. All claimed they were the best, the most important, the most useful, the favourite.

"GREEN" said,
"Clearly I am the most important ... I am the sign of life and of hope; I was chosen for grass, trees and leaves, Without me, all animals would die; Look over the countryside and you will see that I am in the majority."

"BLUE" interrupted,
"You only think about the earth, But consider the sky and the sea ... It is the water that is the basis of life and it is drawn up by the clouds from the deep sea; The sky gives space and peace and serenity, without my peace, you would all be nothing."

"YELLOW" chuckled,
"You are all so serious ...I bring laughter, gaiety, and warmth into the world, the sun, the moon and the stars are all yellow; Every time you look at a sunflower, the whole world starts to smile,
without me there would be no fun."

"ORANGE" started next to blow her trumpet ...
"I am the colour of health and strength, I may be scarce, but I am precious for I serve the needs of human life, I carry the most important vitamins; Think of carrots, pumpkins, oranges, and mangoes, I don't hang around all the time, but when I do, I fill the sky at sunrise or sunset, my beauty is so striking that no one gives another thought to any of you."

"RED" could stand it no longer so he shouted out ...
"I am the ruler of all of you! I am blood ... life's blood! I am the colour of danger and of bravery, I am willing to fight for a cause, I bring fire into the blood; Without me, the earth would be as empty as the moon, I am the colour of passion and of love, the red rose, the poinsettia and the poppy."

"PURPLE" rose up to his full height, he was very tall and spoke with great pomp ...
"I am the colour of royalty and power, Kings, chiefs, and bishops have always chosen me for I am the sign of authority and wisdom, people do not question me!  They listen and obey."

Finally "PINK" spoke, much more quietly than all the others, but with just as much determination ...
"Think of me.  I am the colour of silence, you hardly notice me, but without me you all become superficial; I represent thought and reflection, twilight and deep water, you need me for balance and contrast, for prayer and inner peace."

And so the colours went on boasting, each convinced of his or her own superiority. Their quarreling became louder and louder. Suddenly there was a startling flash of bright lightning! Thunder rolled and boomed!
Rain started to pour down relentlessly. The colours crouched down in fear, drawing close to one another for comfort.

In the midst of the clamour, "RAIN" began to speak ... "You foolish colours, fighting amongst yourselves, each trying to dominate the rest; don't you know that you were each made for a special purpose, unique and different? Join hands with one another and come to me."

Doing as they were told, the colours united and joined hands. The rain continued, "From now on, when it rains, each of you will stretch across the sky in a great bow of colour as a reminder that you can all live in peace.  The rainbow is a sign of hope for tomorrow."

Worship Group hope everyone in school remembers this story and lives in peace with one another.

Diversity

Worship Group have chosen the topic of ‘Diversity’ for their new display as they felt that it was important to celebrate that

although we are all unique, together we make God’s masterpiece.

Worship Group also linked this to Great

Elizabethans of HM Queen Elizabeth II Reign and how together we make up Modern Britain.

Feeding of the 5000

Worship Group have chosen the Bible Story of ‘The Feeding of the Five Thousand’ for their new display as they felt that this story of shows the Christian Value of friendship in action.  The boy gave what he had, just five loaves and two fishes, and Jesus performed a miracle as it fed the whole crowd with twelves baskets of left-overs. Imagine if we shared what we had?

There would be food for everyone!

Thinking of others...

Support for Ukraine

Our Ash Wednesday Service supported the International Day of Prayer for Peace especially thinking about the Ukraine. Worship Group wanted to support Holy Trinity Mother’s Union in their collection of items for the Ukraine and so they organised a ‘Non-Uniform Day’.

Children & adults in school wore the colours of the flag of the Ukraine or non-uniform today and donated money for doing so. Worship Group are astounded by the generosity of our Freckleton family and are pleased to announce that this action raised £650

Blessed are the peacemakers, for they will be called children of God.

Matthew 5:9

THANK YOU

Daniel in the Lion's Den

Worship Group have chosen the Bible Story of Daniel in the Lion’s Den for their new display as they felt that the story of Daniel shows the Christian Value of perseverance in action.  The Officials tricked the King into making a law which meant Daniel could not worship God but Daniel persevered with his faith and prayed to God.  The King’s officials made the King punish him but when Daniel was put into the Lion’s Den, God sent an Angel to protect him.  In the morning when the King checked on Daniel he was safe, as a result the King told all his people they should worship the God of Daniel.

Epiphany Praise at Holy Trinity Church!

Thank you to the children who helped lead our Epiphany Praise service this morning as we learned about the visit of the wise men to see baby Jesus and we sang of the significance of the gifts they brought of Gold, Frankincense & Myrrh.
Epiphany is important because we remember that Jesus is revealed to all nations and is for everyone.

Welcome back to school and the start of 2022!

Worship Group led our first worship of the new year in which they thought about the promise of hope that we are given for the future. To remind everyone of God's promise they gave each class a Rainbow to display in their classroom.

They have also updated the Worship display to reflect this and aim to produce a new display for each half-term.
