Year 5 Information

Class Teachers 

Mrs Leaper teaches Year 5 Monday to Thursday and Miss Morris teaches on Friday. Miss Loughran supports the class every day and Mrs Catterall teaches on Wednesday afternoon. Mrs Rayton joins us on Tuesday afternoon for brass lesson. Children are responsible for taking care of their musical instruments and must remember to bring them to school every Tuesday for their brass lesson. 

P.E 

Year 5 enjoy P.E. on a Thursday and Friday. School tracksuits should be worn on these days. Please note, earrings must not be worn on track suit days.

Home Learning 

Spelling home learning will be sent home on a Tuesday and will be tested the following Tuesday. Spelling books must be brought to school every day along with reading books and diaries as spelling activities form part our daily guided reading carousel. 

A topic based Home Learning activity sheet will be sent home at the beginning of each half term and can be completed in any order and runs until the beginning of the following term.

MyMaths home learning tasks will be set occasionally.

Please encourage your child to read for at least 10 minutes every night. Reading should be recorded in the Home School Diary and signed by an adult.  Reading books can be changed throughout the week.
