FRECKLETON Church of England Primary School

Parish School of Holy Trinity Church

SEN and Disability

We are an inclusive school, and all the staff at Freckleton Church of England Primary School, accept responsibility to recognise every child as an individual and take positive steps to ensure equal opportunities for all regardless of gender, race, creed or colour. At our school any special needs are identified by the class teacher through observation or assessment, consultation with parents or previous school records etc. If needs are identified, parents will be invited to attend meetings with the class teacher and our Special Needs Coordinator at each stage.

Our SENCo, Mr Kenyon, works closely with the class teacher to provide support, monitor progress and to advise suitable programmes of work. Regular reviews of the child’s Special Educational Needs will be held. Our Special Needs Governor works in close partnership with school.

As part of the SEND Reforms all schools must produce a 'Local Offer' so that parents of children with Special Educational Needs or Disabilities know what kind of support they can expect should their child attend their setting.
