Our School Day

 Getting to school

To get to and from school, walking is definitely the best option!

There are lots of benefits: it’s healthier than travelling by car, it improves the safety of pedestrians and road-users, and it respects nearby residents and parking regulations. The school car park should not be used to drop off and collect your child(ren) and there is a large FREE public car park next door to school.

Our School Day

The school day starts at 8.55am and finishes at 3.25pm. All children can enter school from 8.45am.

 Morning Playtime

All children have a morning playtime from 10.15am - 10.30am.

Lunch

Lunchtime is 12noon to 1pm; due to our pupil numbers the dinners are served in two sittings with the Infants first then the Juniors unless it is a 'special themed lunch' when we operate a 'through' service.

Afternoon Playtime

Infant children have an afternoon playtime from 2.15pm - 2.30pm.

Drop-off and collection

At the beginning and end of the school day all children are dropped off and collected from their classroom doors.

If normal arrangements have to be altered (e.g. you are delayed or another person is collecting your child) please let us know.  This avoids any confusion or upset.

We encourage good communication between home and school however our open door policy is currently suspended and so we would ask parents and carers to contact teachers via the year group email addresses if they have any questions or queries.

Worship and Assemblies

As a Church school we meet together for both worship and assemblies. Worship is a time to reflect, pray, praise and celebrate God's great gifts to us, assembly is a time to assemble together for a common purpose often to inform.

We normally hold worship in the school hall, classrooms, our Parish Church of Holy Trinity or the Methodist Church, we are also developing ways of worshipping outside! Assemblies often take place in the school hall.

Whole school worship is usually 9.05am to 9.20am on Mondays, Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays; class worship takes place on Tuesdays at some point. Assemblies are arranged as needed. Parents and Carers are invited to assemblies and acts of worship via the school's newsletter.
