Digital Leaders Meeting 27.02.23

At our meeting we used the English Tools and clicked on:

Þ Writing Genes & Themes

Þ then  Poetry

Þ then  Winter to Spring

With Mrs Ainsworth, we used this template to write a short poem about the changes from Winter to Spring and decorated it with some clip art.We decided to hold a Digital Leaders Poetry Competition this was set as a ‘2Do’ from Mrs Ainsworth. We decided that this would support World Poetry Day on Tuesday 21st March 2023.  Poems need to be entered by Wednesday 15th March in order for the Digital Leaders to judge them. We will choose a winner from each class to put on ourdigital display board and they will get a small prize.

The prizes will be presented by Sean Perkins our visiting poet.

Digital Leaders

Meeting 23.01.23

At our meeting we looked at the information on Purple Mash about Safer Internet Day 2023.

Mrs Ainsworth showed us the materials for the Infants and the Juniors. Safer Internet Day is in the same week as when we are thinking about children’s health and wellbeing which will end on Friday 10th February with our ‘Wear your SCARF to school day’.

This year‘s theme is: Want to talk about it?

We are going to be encouraging children to think of ‘helping hands’ - 5 adults they can talk to and 5 children they can talk to if they are worried by anything on the internet.

Digital leaders will also be seeking children’s views to make a ‘Safer Internet Charter’ to send to the UK Safer Internet Centre.

At our meeting we looked at the entries for the Christmas Card Competition from each class.

The standard was so high, the Digital Leaders decided to have a runner-up from each class as well as a winner.  We made a Digital Display Board on Purple Mash to show the winners.

The winners received a Selection Box and the runner’s up a Christmas Pencil at the Celebration Assembly on 09.12.22.

Digital Leaders

Meeting 21.11.22

At our meeting we used the iPads and went on Purple Mash using the 2Paint tool.  We tested out the programme to design an image for a Christmas Card. We made sure each Digital Leader could use the programme and knew how to save work to their folder. We decided to hold a Digital Leaders Christmas Card Competition this was set as a ‘2Do’ from Mrs Ainsworth.

We decided that the designs should be completed and  submitted by Monday 5th December. We will choose a winner from each class to put on our digital display board and they will get a small prize. We designed a poster to tell classes all about the competition and we used our own designs on there as examples.

Meeting 07.11.22

At our first meeting we met with Mrs Ainsworth and talked about what it means to be a Digital Leader. We talked about helping children stay safe online and thought of two key messages which are displayed on our rainbow. The Digital Leaders will tell their class about these. Then we planned and made our Digital Leader Display Board.
